ActionSA has officially launched its campaign for the 2026 local government elections in Tshwane, with Executive Mayor Dr Nasiphi Moya calling on residents to support the party’s vision to rebuild the capital city.

Speaking at a campaign event in Mamelodi, Ms Moya accepted her nomination as ActionSA’s mayoral candidate and appealed for another five-year mandate to continue improving service delivery, infrastructure and economic growth in Tshwane. She said the first 18 months of her leadership focused on stabilising the city after years of financial and governance challenges.

Dr Moya highlighted achievements such as improving the city’s cash reserves, investing in infrastructure projects, resurfacing roads and strengthening water and electricity systems in areas including Hammanskraal and Mamelodi. She also pointed to the Tshwane Economic Revitalisation Strategy, which aims to create thousands of jobs and attract investment into the city.

ActionSA president Herman Mashaba was praised during the event for promoting economic growth and job creation. Dr Moya said the party remains committed to fighting corruption, improving public safety and restoring trust in local government.

She urged residents to work together with the municipality to rebuild Tshwane, saying the city has begun recovering and now needs stability and stronger leadership to continue progressing.
