Female officers from the Tshwane Metro Police Department (TMPD) joined other women in law enforcement for “Operation Basadi”.

The female-led integrated law enforcement operation was held on 21 August 2026 along the N4 Bakwena highway at M17 Hornsnek Road, in celebration of Women’s Month.

The operation was executed entirely by women in law enforcement, showcasing leadership and operational excellence in a field traditionally dominated by men.

The TMPD stated that it is empowering to work alongside other women in uniform. This operation proves that we can lead with strength and professionalism, and it shows young girls that law enforcement is also their space.

The operation focused on strengthening traffic enforcement and crime prevention, and on promoting workplace gender equality through collaboration among different law enforcement agencies.
