Members of the Tshwane Metro Police Department’s Drug Unit and K9 Unit arrested a 35-year-old man on Wednesday, 22 July 2026, following a targeted drug operation in Eersterust.
According to TMPD, the joint operation led officers to a male suspect found in possession of 96 Mandrax tablets and 58 bottles of 100 ml cough syrup.
The suspect was charged with contravening the Medicines Act, as well as possession and dealing in suspected drugs. He was immediately arrested and detained at a local police station for further processing.
Police urged community members to continue reporting suspicious drug activity to help keep neighborhoods safe.
