Gauteng MEC for Public Transport and Roads Infrastructure, Jacob Mamabolo, will on Wednesday, 28 August 2019 launch the multi-million upgrading and rehabilitation project of Road K69 (Solomon Mahlangu) in Mamelodi, City of Tshwane. The launch event will take place at 9:00 at Ikageng Community Hall.
The Gauteng Department of Roads and Transport’s Theo Nkonki said the R300 million project, fully funded by the Department, involves the doubling of the existing carriageway from a single to a double carriageway to increase capacity, safety and accessibility for existing and future developments along the K69.
He said the Road K69 has been experiencing high volumes of traffic resulting in congestion during peak morning and afternoon periods
“The project is expected to be completed in 24 months’ time and is expected to reduce congestion and travel times between Mamelodi and the N4,” he said.
