The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) Hosted a Freedom Day Rally in Mamelodi on 27 April led by the party’s president, Mr. Julias Malema, and Mr. Ramabodu, the regional chairperson in Mamelodi.
Mr Malema said, “Today was supposed to be a day we celebrate because we have reclaimed our land, celebrate because each and every South African has a decent house, but we are celebrating while some of our brothers and sisters are still living in a hard freedom country.
“I believe that one day, as EFF members, we will achieve our goa to celebrate our complete freedom on this day,” he said.
Mr Ramabodu said, “I’m very grateful for the support we are getting as EFF, especially in this region and throughout the country.”
“This is one of the most important days in our country’s history and I appreciate the support for this event, and while we are not yet finished fighting for our freedom, it is a good thing to celebrate what the people have while still fighting for what they don’t have,” he said.
Mr Phuti Mokgotjo, a member of the Mamelodi community, said, “I am EFF and I believe in EFF. Today we are celebrating a big day in our country and I am happy that the party decided to host such a marvelous event for our community here in Mamelodi.,” he said.
